February Timeline Style

February 10th : My mom flew up to Salt Lake City for a special genealogical conference so I took off a little time at work to drive up and see her and her mom (my grandma). My grandma is 97 years old now and still going strong. I guess it's a common thing for the women on my mom's side to live a long time. We worked on a puzzle, talked, and watched a crazy event on the Olympics where they cross country ski for awhile and then have to take a break to shoot targets. That night, a whole bunch of the Lindberg clan (my mom's side) got together for a baby shower where we had a good time just catching up and decorating onesies for baby Elizabeth.

February 14th: Valentine's Day! Brett unfortunately had to take a midterm for biochemistry that night but we weren't planning on battling the Provo crowds to find a restaurant anyway. We ended up going out to Gloria's Little Italy (Center St. & University Ave.) after his test because they have some of the BEST desserts ever, and I'm a bit of a sugar-aholic.

February 19th: Brett's Birthday! Brett is officially 24 (yeesh! we're gettin' old) Brett went to school like normal and I went to work like usual but we had just enough time to go out to dinner to celebrate before Brett had to catch the front runner to the airport. We had gone shopping and found some new running shoes for him the weekend before since we think that his old pair are most likely from high school days. Also, I had heard rumor of a place in Provo that sells kinder bueno chocolate bars (one of Brett's favorites but it's really hard to find in the states) so that was a fun surprise for him.

February 20th - 23rd : We were so excited when we found out that Brett had received an interview at the University of Calgary's medical school. It's the closest medical school to all of his family in Cardston, it's one of the cheapest medical schools we applied to, and it has a unique 3 year program so you're done faster and can get right into residency. Brett's response when he got back was something like, "well, we might be moving to Canada". He liked the overall feel of the school A LOT and I think one of his best comments about it was that he felt like he was among "his people". I think he misses Canada even if he doesn't say it... He also got a little bit of time to see his parents and siblings while he was up. I think he particularly enjoyed being able to watch the Canadian Men's Hockey Team win the gold metal game, in Canada, and with his family. (I'm still always going to root for the USA - they're my team, but if they USA couldn't win i'm glad Canada did)

February 28th : 35 Weeks or 8 Months Pregnant - the end is in sight!! We can totally make it one more month. In a lot of ways I know I've had it pretty good. I still don't know what heartburn feels like, my dr. says i'm measuring the right size, the baby's heartbeat is good, and I haven't even experienced swollen ankles (yet). The most frustrating thing right now is that it's just hard to breathe haha, especially if I slouch. Brett probably doesn't appreciate that my body pillow is pushing him off the bed at night either ;)
