Summer Lovin'

This is definitely a summer of traveling for our little family but we are loving every bit of it. We drove up to Montana/Canada at the end of May and spent a little time up there with the Shaws. Then we drove to Utah for a day so that Ellie could get her 2 month check up and immediately flew to Houston to see the Rasmussens for a couple weeks. We are just finishing up our time here in Houston and are getting ready to fly back to Utah and promptly drive back up to Canada!

Adorable baby kittens living in the barn :)

Ellie had her 2 month check up a couple days early on June 9th and she weighed in at 12 lbs. 13 oz. She continues to be in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. She's a big baby but she's a healthy baby. We were nervous about her getting a bunch of shots and then getting on a plane but she did great! Besides a little soreness on the spot where they gave them to her she hardly noticed and our baby Tylenol remains unopened :)

We finally got to drive out and see Temple, Texas; our home for the next 2 years. It was a long day with the 3 hour drive each way but we were excited to check out the medical school buildings and find a place to live. Here are a couple pictures of the duplex we are renting. It's 3 bed 2 bath and was just built a couple years ago; we are beyond excited to have some more space!

The ZOO! Ellie seemed to enjoy the new experience... though that's probably because she was asleep for most of it ;)

This time of year is blueberry season! We went to a blueberry farm with almost the whole family and picked for about an hour. My brother Paul said that he left with about 26 pounds of them in hand.

Hanging out and waiting for our snow cones after all that berry picking

We also made it to the Galveston beach while we were visiting. (lots of new firsts for Ellie) We mostly just enjoyed the wind and atmosphere though; the water was at an all time gross and for Galveston that's saying something. You come expecting the water to be a little greenish brown, but the seaweed was out of control. I guess because of a recent tide/current change all of this seaweed it getting brought into Galveston. It was literally about three feet high and went all the way to the water. The one bonus of all the seaweed is that lots of things live in it. All the kids (and adults too ;) ) had fun catching shrimp, crabs, brittle stars, etc.

....and a couple extra pictures of Ellie just because we think she's cute.
